A balancing authority is an entity responsible for maintaining balance between electric generation, load, and/or interchange schedules within a geographic area.

BHE Montana’s Glacier Balancing Authority Services has the staff, expertise, and technology to provide NERC Certified Balancing Authority services for energy facilities throughout United States and Canada From its control centers, Glacier Balancing Authority Services monitors and controls a portfolio of generation assets across Montana, Washington State, and the pacific northwest.

Glacier Balancing Authority Services provides clients with reliable, stable, and robust real-time balancing solutions for delivery of energy on the Bulk Electric System.
